Nebraska Humane Society’s 151st birthday weekend brings free adoptions and matched donations in Omaha
OMAHA, Neb. —
Each week, KETV NewsWatch 7 showcases an animal up for adoption at the Nebraska Humane Society.
Friday, Aug. 7, is the Nebraska Humane Society’s 151st anniversary, and they are celebrating the best ways they know how.

First, from Aug. 7-9, thanks to a grant from the ASCPA’s Rescue Effect, all adoptions for cats/dogs 6 months and older are waived. That includes pets like Alice, Max, Crunch, Roxy, Sister and Elara, who are all hoping to find a wonderful forever home this weekend. You can see all available pets here.
Plus, due to the generosity of a supporter, donations will be matched through the end of Friday, helping twice as many animals in need. You can donate here.
