Nebraska-Ole Miss game suspended due to inclement weather
SEMIFINALS TWO ONE THE FINAL. WELL, IT MUST BE NEBRASKA VERSUS THE SEC DAY BECAUSE NEBRASKA BASEBALL TAKING ON OLE MISS FOR THE DRIVER’S SEAT IN THE LINCOLN REGIONAL ARTHUR LAUREN MICHELSON IS LIVE AT HAYMARKET PARK WITH A PREVIEW. LAUREN GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TONIGHT FOR THE NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS. ANDY. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. NEBRASKA ALMOST BATTLING TONIGHT FOR A SPOT IN THE REGIONAL FINAL AND BOTH STARTING PITCHERS COMING INTO THIS GAME. SO HOT. NEBRASKA ROLLING WITH TY HORN TONIGHT. THE STARTER HAS ONE OF THE MOST COMPETITIVE ARMS FOR THE HUSKERS. HE’S BEEN SO CONSISTENT IN A WORKHORSE FOR NEBRASKA THIS SEASON. A 3.97 ERA OVER THE LAST 77 INNINGS. HE TRULY FEEDS OFF THE ENERGY OF THIS HAYMARKET CROWD. YOU CAN SEE PEOPLE ALREADY WARMING UP, WATCHING HIM WARM UP HERE IN THE BULLPEN. AS FOR OLE MISS, THEY COUNTER WITH TAYLOR RABE, WHO HAS BEEN HOT, STRIKING OUT 27 OVER HIS LAST 12 INNINGS PITCHED. AND THOSE WERE AGAINST SEC POWERS, TEXAS A AND M AND ALABAMA. SO NEBRASKA CERTAINLY HOPING FOR SOME MORE RUN SUPPORT TONIGHT. BUT IF YOU ASK, HEAD COACH WILL BOWL AT THIS TIME OF THE SEASON, NOTHING COMES EASY. THEY JUST HAVE TO FOCUS ON WINNING ONE GAME AT A TIME. JUST TRY TO STAY POISED. I MEAN, IT JUST POSTSEASON BASEBALL IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT AS MUCH AS ANYBODY WANTS TO ACT LIKE IT’S JUST A WALK IN THE PARK OR, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW WHAT? IT’S JUST THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE EXPECTED AND A CERTAIN TYPE OF GAME. THROW IT ALL OUT THE WINDOW. IT JUST, IT’S TOTALLY DIFFERENT. AND OUR GUYS WERE ACCEPTING OF THE DIFFERENCES. AND THAT’S THE REASON, IN MY OPINION, THAT WE WERE ABLE TO COME OUT ON TOP. NEBRASKA HOPING TO MAKE IT 25 AND ONE AT HAYMARKET PARK THIS SEASON. FANS, LIKE I MENTIONED, ALREADY PACKING THIS BALLPARK. AND ANDY, THEY CERTAINLY LOOKED LIKE A TEAM HUNGRY FOR A REGIONAL WIN YESTERDAY. 18 YEARS IN THE MAKING. HERE’S A LOOK AT THEM. SHOULD BE A GREAT ATMOSPHERE TONIGHT AT HAYMARKET PARK. HEY LAUREN, REAL QUICK, BEFORE WE LET YOU GO, OLE MISS AND ARIZONA STATE. YOU KNOW THEY WENT 14 INNINGS. HAD A WEATHER DELAY LAST NIGHT. THEY DIDN’T FINISH THAT GAME UNTIL AFTER 1:00 115 ISH. HOW BIG OF A DEAL DO YOU THINK THAT WILL BE TONIGHT? YEAH. ANDY NEBRASKA COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER START TO THE LINCOLN REGIONAL. NEBRASKA HEAD COACH WILL BO ELECTED TO PLAY THAT EARLY GAME, AND THAT CERTAINLY HELPED. THEY NOT ONLY AVOID A WEATHER DELAY, BUT THEY AVOIDED THAT MARATHON OF A NIGHT. 14 INNINGS, 115 WRAP TIME. BUT THAT MIXED WITH THE FACT THAT ARIZONA STATE AND OLE MISS WENT THROUGH SO MANY PITCHERS LAST NIGHT, NEBRASKA DID NOT HAVE THAT PROBLEM. THEY USED CARSON YASSA AND JASON UNGER, ONLY TWO ARMS. AND THIS TEAM IS CERTAINLY WELL-RESTED HEADING INTO WHAT IS THE MOST COMPETITIVE BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON SO FAR FOR NEBRASKA. ALL RIGHT. THANKS, LAUREN. WE’LL
