A Vermont road made famous in a Noah Kahan song has become a repeat target for thieves who keep stealing the road sign. Now, Kahan’s family is asking fans to please respect the town’s property.
The town of Strafford is a recurring part in the Vermont singer-songwriter’s music, and thanks to his rise to stardom, his fans have been visiting the area more and more. However, some of them have been taking a piece of the area home that doesn’t belong to them, costing the town thousands of dollars.

Kahan’s song “The View Between Villages” from his hit album “Stick Season” references Alger Brook Road, with fans being accused of stealing the sign as a piece of memorabilia.

The Strafford Selectboard is working to figure out how to stop the thefts, with Kahan himself appealing to his fans on social media. Last week, he made a post telling his fans that his song lyrics are not an invitation to disrupt the lives of people in his home community. He also offered to pay for the sign’s replacement.
