Second meeting held for nonprofit’s grocery store plan in North Omaha

North Omaha residents shared their ideas for a new grocery store at the second “community vision meeting” held Wednesday night.
The nearly 25,000-square-foot full-service grocery store from Heart Ministry Center is planned near 25th and Lake streets.

Heart Ministry Center said it has received 425 surveys about the store and is using that feedback to shape the project. The organization said community members have emphasized wanting a clean, well-lit and safe store with a welcoming atmosphere.
“We want people to feel welcome, to belong, to be a part of it,” said Damany Rahn, CEO of Heart Ministry Center.
Crews are expected to break ground this fall. Proceeds from the grocery store will support Heart Ministry Center’s work in the community.
