Nebraska competes to reclaim blood donation title in Abbott’s Big Ten drive
OMAHA, Neb. —
NU is aiming to reclaim its title in Abbott’s “We Give Blood Drive,” a nationwide competition among all 18 Big Ten schools to log the most blood donations.
The competition offers a $1 million grant to the winning school.

Nebraska previously won in 2024 but lost to Wisconsin in 2025.
Donations toward the contest begin Wednesday, but they cannot be officially logged until August 26. The drive runs through Dec. 4.
