LEADER, KETV NEWSWATCH SEVEN AT NOON. LINCOLN. POLICE SAY A MAN IS IN JAIL AFTER HE FOUGHT WITH AN OFFICER INSIDE AN ARBY’S AND TRIED TO GRAB THE OFFICER’S GUN. THANKS FOR JOINING US. I’M QUANECIA FRASER. AN OFFICER WAS HURT WHEN A SHOT WAS FIRED. THE OFFICER MADE CONTACT WITH BURT IN THE RESTROOM. HE ATTEMPTED TO TAKE HIM INTO CUSTODY AND A STRUGGLE ENSUED DURING THE FIGHT. AT SOME POINT IN TIME, BERTOLINO WAS GRABBING FOR THE OFFICER’S SIDEARM AND A ROUND WAS DISCHARGED INTO THE RESTROOM FLOOR. THIS WAS AT THE ARBY’S IN SOUTH LINCOLN OFF NEBRASKA PARKWAY. 36 YEAR OLD JOSEPH BERTOLINO OF JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, WAS ARRESTED AFTER OFFICERS USED A TASER TO TAKE HIM INTO CUSTODY.
