Bellevue, Nebraska —
Offutt Air Force Base announced on Thursday that the Defenders of Freedom Air Show will be Aug. 8 and 9 to celebrate America 250.

Offutt officials said they are taking a new approach to putting on the air show.
“The current method of giving ourselves a break year to give us longer to prepare for an airshow was kind of the new standard that we’ve got,” chief public affairs officer Kris Pierce said.
Tens of thousands of onlookers attend the air show when held.
Offutt officials said that in order to accommodate the projected number of attendees, parking will be at the base.
Attendees will need to get a pass on Offutt’s website and bring a government-issued ID upon entry. You can buy tickets to the event here. There will be no reentry allowed.
In the event of severe weather, guests may be required to temporarily evacuate the flightline and seek shelter until event officials determine whether the show can safely resume.
All ticket sales for the event are final, and there are no refunds for weather issues.
