Offutt’s Defenders of Freedom Air & Space Show soars to new heights
All eyes on the sky this weekend as the thrilling showcase of aerial acrobatics takes flight
BELLEVUE, Neb. —
From Air Force elite jumping out of a V-Day jet plane to a Pearl Harbor reenactment and an F-35 formation flight, all eyes will be on the sky this weekend.
The Defenders of Freedom Air & Space Show returns to Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue Saturday and Sunday, August 8th and 9th.

This year brings a major change for visitors. Public parking is back on the base for the first time since the 2019 floods.
They also have a new base pass system designed to improve the overall experience.
“This is a way for us to say thank you to this amazing community,” said Kris “Krispy” Pierce. He’s the chief of public affairs for the 55th Wing at Offutt.
“Bring them beyond the fence, let them touch things they don’t get to touch, and experience things that are brand new. We can’t wait for it,” he added.
The air show’s director, Major Chris “Stretch” Mortensen, joined the conversation with KETV Newswatch 7’s Samantha Pastorino.
Mortensen says the show will blend old planes with new jets to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
General admission to the Freedom Air & Space Show is free, but you must reserve a pass online.
