Omaha police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who stole a dolly and a Pit Boss smoker from a south Omaha yard in broad daylight. The theft happened near 15th and Y streets on April 5. Surveillance footage shows the suspect first taking a dolly from the front yard and loading it into the back of his truck. He then attempts to load a heavy Pit Boss grill into the truck, but struggles initially. After some leverage and persistence, he manages to stand the grill upright in the truck bed before driving away. The victim is now out about $1,000 in items. Police shared a closer look at the suspect and his vehicle. The image is blurry, but the truck appears to be an older model Chevy C10, likely from the late 1960s or early 1970s.
