The crash happened Thursday near 114th Street and West Center Road.

According to police, a Subaru Impreza was attempting to turn when it was hit by an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu. The impact of the crash ripped the Subaru in half.

Prosecutors said Hunt was driving at about 98 mph one second before the impact and had a blood alcohol level of .095.

A 10-year-old and a 5-year-old were taken to the hospital with CPR in progress. Omaha police said the 10-year-old died from his injuries.

Prosecutors said as of Monday morning, the 5-year-old has multiple fractures and internal injuries and is still considered to be in very critical and unstable condition.

The judge ordered Hunt to have no contact with any of the victims or victim’s family, and says he will be placed on GPS monitoring and into the 24/7 sobriety programming if he is able to post bond.

Court documents uncovered by KETV Investigates show that this is not Hunt’s first DUI.

An arrest affidavit shows he was charged with speeding and DUI after an incident in Bellevue.

Hunt allegedly denied any alcohol or drug use but admitted to taking a Xanax a few hours earlier that night.

The officer said Hunt showed signs of impairment during field sobriety tests.
