DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. —

The Omaha man accused of threatening violence against a Nebraska high school and Gov. Jim Pillen’s family will go to trial.

Ean Halstead, 32, waived his preliminary hearing and is set to go to trial on felony terroristic threats and tampering with evidence charges in the incident.

Columbus Catholic Schools reported a threatening comment toward Columbus Scotus and the governor’s family to the Nebraska State Patrol, according to court documents.

Prosecutors confirmed that Pillen’s grandchildren attend Columbus Scotus.

The Nebraska State Patrol said investigators confiscated multiple electronics from Halstead’s residence, and troopers said they found evidence linking Halstead to the threat.

Court documents state Halstead performed a factory reset on a cellphone inside the residence and unplugged a router inside the residence, indicating “intentional obstruction of law enforcement.”
