OMAHA, Neb. —

An Omaha man was convicted on Wednesday in a child sexual abuse case.

Matthew Butler, 44, pled no contest to a charge of attempted pandering of a minor. That charge was downgraded from sex trafficking of a minor.

Two other felony charges were dropped as a result of the plea deal.

Court documents said from Nov. 2023 through Feb. 2026, Butler engaged with sex trafficking and sold sexually explicit images of a child.

Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 21.
