An Omaha man has been convicted in connection to the killing of an 18-year-old in May.

Pablo Flores, 21, entered a guilty plea to one count of accessory to a robbery on Wednesday. That charge was downgraded after initially pleading not guilty to accessory to first-degree murder back in July.

On May 13, officers responded to the scene near N 48th and Seward streets for a report of a person down in a vehicle, Omaha police said.

Investigators said officers located the victim, identified as Joseph Baha, 18, in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Camry with apparent gunshot wounds.

Omaha police said Baha was declared dead at the scene.

Dheal Duany, 21, was arrested in Douglas County on Aug. 2 in connection to the killing after a traffic stop. He was booked on a charge of first-degree murder.

Juan Garcia-Martinez, 23, faces a robbery charge related to Baha’s murder. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 30.

A 14-year-old is also charged as an adult in the case. Carl Peak is charged with multiple felonies, including robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Peak waived his preliminary hearing and will go to district court for trial. His pretrial is scheduled for Oct. 6.

There is also an additional 14-year-old with a warrant out for their arrest, according to Omaha police.

It’s still unclear what led up to the gunfire and Baha’s death.
