Omaha man convicted in deadly shooting after plea deal
One of the men arrested in connection in a deadly mass shooting in Omaha back in 2023 took a plea deal on Monday afternoon.
OMAHA, Neb. —
One of the men arrested in connection in a deadly mass shooting in Omaha back in 2023 took a plea deal on Monday afternoon.
William Brown, 22, pleaded no contest to reduced charges; Brown has now been convicted of manslaughter, second-degree assault and an accessory to a felony charge. He also had four other charges dropped as a result.

Prosecutors said in 2023, Brown, Javaris Hesseltine and William Willis stole a car, drove to a party near 24th and Decatur streets, and started firing.
Lamarantae Swift died, and five others were injured in the shooting. Swift was an 11th-grade student at Burke High School.
Omaha police said a crowd of about 100 had gathered for a woman’s birthday party.
Hesseltine, 20, was sentenced to 70 to 98 years in April for manslaughter, first-degree assault, and two weapons charges.
Willis, 20, who was found guilty of assault and discharging a firearm, was sentenced to 55 to 92 years in prison in December of 2025.
