Omaha police investigate deaths of two people

OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha police are investigating the deaths of two people.

On Friday around 7:30 a.m., police were called to the area of 35th and Davenport streets for a welfare check.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they found a man and a woman deceased inside an apartment with apparent gunshot wounds.

According to police, the homicide unit is investigating the incident as a murder-suicide,

The couple had been dating and lived together at the apartment, according to police. They also said no one else was present or living in the apartment at the time of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
