Officers found the injured man at the gas station and began combing the surrounding area to determine where the stabbing occurred.
Sgt. Andrew Kinsey said officers discovered a trail of blood.
“They were following the trail. I don’t know where it ended up… the trail went cold at some point,” Kinsey said.
Police said the man was uncooperative with officers and was transported to Nebraska Medicine, where he is in critical condition.
The incident is still under investigation.
