OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha’s Weather Leader has deemed Monday an impact weather day for dangerous heat, and storm chances.

High temperatures in the 90s to 100° are expected Monday. Heat indices are possible between 105° – 110°. Take precaution to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade if working outdoors.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for eastern Nebraska and western Iowa from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday.

Spotty thunderstorms could develop Monday afternoon, primarily after 6 p.m., continuing into Monday night and early Tuesday morning. The Storm Prediction Center has placed a marginal to slight risk for isolated severe thunderstorms over parts of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. Wind gusts up to 65 mph and 1 inch hail are possible.
