Omaha weather: Windy and chilly Saturday for metro

Showers and strong to severe thunderstorms possible Friday afternoon.

NOPE, NOPE. NO WINDY THOUGH. PRETTY CLOUDY. PRETTY CHILLY. PRETTY COLD. YEAH. SO NOT THE GREATEST FOR BEING AND WORKING OUTSIDE. NOT REALLY THAT SPRING. LIKE WEATHER THAT A LOT OF FOLKS HAVE ALREADY KIND OF GOTTEN USED TO. BUT BOY, I TELL YOU, IN APRIL WE CAN GET SOME REAL BACK AND FORTH AND I GIVE IT A B FACTOR FOR UNPLEASANT FOR BEING AND WORKING OUTSIDE SATURDAY WITH THE WIND, THE CHILLY TEMPERATURES TURNED OUT TO BE 1607 OMAHA EPPLEY AIRFIELD, BUT 4/10 DOWN IN PLATTSMOUTH, THIRD OF AN INCH IN CLARINDA. PRETTY HEAVY RAIN AROUND CRESTON. THE BIGGEST STORM THAT WE SAW DEVELOP WAS DOWN HERE NORTH OF FALLS CITY, TRACKED ACROSS ATCHISON, NODAWAY INTO TAYLOR COUNTY OF IOWA AND THEN OUT TO THE EAST. AND THERE WERE A FEW REPORTS OF HAIL DOWN THERE, BUT NO TORNADO REPORTS ANYWHERE IN THE AREA WHERE THEY HAD THE TORNADO WATCH. IN EFFECT, IT’S TOUGH TO FORECAST THE WEATHER SOMETIMES. EARLY SEASON SYSTEMS DON’T WORK OUT QUITE LIKE THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER WOULD THINK. AND YOU KNOW, WE’RE HAPPY THERE WEREN’T ANY TORNADOES AROUND OUR STORM CHASER, NATHAN MOORE. HE WAS RIGHT ON THAT THING, THOUGH. HE HAD MANY PICTURES OF THE STORM THAT PRODUCED THE HAIL AS IT MOVED INTO BEDFORD, BUT NO TORNADO. 4138 TODAY. TEMPERATURES DIDN’T BUDGE HARDLY AT ALL. 1600S OF AN INCH OF MOISTURE, ABOUT AN INCH FOR THE MONTH. AND WE’RE ABOVE NORMAL, WHICH IS FANTASTIC. IT’S STILL CLOUDY. IT’S STILL KIND OF BREEZY, AND IT’S PRETTY CHILLY. 39 DEGREES FEELS LIKE 31, 39, 38 BLAIR 37 COUNCIL BLUFFS AND LOWER THAN THAT OUT HERE IN NORFOLK UPPER 30S NOW, HARLAN DENNISON CARROLL. AND IT WAS 75 AT AROUND 4:00 THIS AFTERNOON. MARYVILLE, OF COURSE, NOW THEY’RE 45 WITH THAT NORTHWEST WIND REALLY BLOWING AT 21 MILES AN HOUR, I THINK THE WINDS ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO PICK UP A LITTLE BIT OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND BE QUITE STRONG TOMORROW. STILL THE SHOWER RUMBLE OF THUNDER CREIGHTON AND MOVING EASTWARD. THIS IS AGAIN THAT THUNDERSTORM THAT WAS STRONGER BUT JUST HAD SOME HAIL IN IT. NOW THE CLOUDS WILL THEY MOVE OUT OF EASTERN NEBRASKA. WELL THEY KIND OF EXTEND OUT HERE TO THE WEST OF US. AND THEY STILL REALLY HAVEN’T MOVED THROUGH YET. SOME LOW CLOUDS STARTING TO COME BACK IN AROUND THIS AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IN SOUTH DAKOTA. SO THE COMPUTER MODEL, PRETTY OPTIMISTIC, GIVES US SOME SUN IN THE MORNING. DON’T EXPECT TO WAKE UP AND SEE SUNSHINE. I THINK LOW CLOUDS ARE GOING TO WRAP IN HERE. AND STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS KEEP US OFF THE CHILLY. AND THEN AS WE CLEAR OUT TOMORROW NIGHT, IT LOOKS COLD. AND IF THE WINDS DIE DOWN, PARTICULARLY OUT TO THE WEST, WE’LL SEE SOME LOWS INTO THE 20S, 33 TONIGHT. BREEZY, CHILLY, MOSTLY CLOUDY. CLOUDS DECREASE A LITTLE BIT TOWARD MORNING. MAYBE SOME PEEKS OF SUN IN THE MORNING, BUT I THINK MORE CLOUDS AND SUN TODAY. TOMORROW FOR SURE. AND TEMPERATURES DROPPING IN THE MID AND UPPER 40S FOR A FEW COLD MORNING ON EASTER SUNDAY, AND THEN 63 FOR THE HIGH. ACTUALLY BE PRETTY DECENT BY LATE DAY ON SUNDAY FOR EASTER WITH CLOUDS ARE BACK IN HERE ON MONDAY AND OUR COMPUTER MODELS FOR A FEW DAYS HAVE BEEN HINTING AT A CHANCE OF A LITTLE RAIN SNOW MIX ON MONDAY AND MAYBE A LITTLE MORE ON MONDAY NIGHT. SO REALLY QUITE CHILLY THERE TO START THE WEEK. WINDY AND WARMER ON WEDNESDAY. MA
