Omaha’s Melanin Market celebrates fifth year at new venue
OMAHA, Neb. —
The Melanin Market celebrated its fifth year by bringing together a curated mix of minority-owned businesses from across the metro at the Omaha Design Center.
“We would go to these large, vendor markets, and we didn’t see a lot of minority-owned businesses present. So we wanted to create space for local minority-owned businesses in our community,” Ty Nared said.

This year marked the first time the event was held at the Omaha Design Center. Organizers hope to continue hosting the event for many more years to come.
