Omaha’s Skinner Magnet School debuts cutting-edge classroom tech in 1996

OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha got a new elementary school in 1996.

Skinner Magnet School opened its doors, providing students with cutting-edge education technology.

This included an electronic theater operated by phone lines, telephones in every classroom, and a high-tech information center with over 30 computers and internet access.

“I’ve thought about having a telephone in the classroom for years, so that I can call after school and make contact with parents,” said a Skinner Magnet School teacher.
