OMAHA, Neb. —

One person was taken to the hospital after hundreds of tubers were stuck on the Elkhorn River during Saturday afternoon’s storms.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a drowning call.

People were able to get the man back on the tube and to shore.

He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

It’s unclear if there were any other injuries.

Waterloo Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.
