Nebraska Emergency Management has provided an update to the South Fork Fire, as containment numbers continue to improve.As of Saturday afternoon, the fire has burned 32,818 acres and is currently 42% contained. According to Nebraska Emergency Management, shifting wind conditions moved the fires yesterday toward Cottonwood Road.Officials expect a cold front moving in to reduce temperatures, which could lower some of the current fire activity.The agency says those crews are actively working to strengthen and secure fire lines while limiting fire spread through lighter, more receptive fuels.
