OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. —

Offutt Air Force Base’s Defenders of Freedom Air & Space Show will be on Aug. 8 and Aug. 9.

The free event will feature aerial demonstrations by the F-35A Lightning II team, Tora Tora Tora aircraft and other performers.

On both days, the gates will open at 8:30 a.m. The flying portion of the show will begin 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

On-base parking will be permitted. However, attendees will be required to obtain a free Base Pass through the air show website before arriving. This pass is designed to direct guests to the correct gate and parking area.

The base’s parking lots will be either red, blue or orange. After parking, guests are encouraged to save their vehicle’s location on their phone. There will also be designated parking for vehicles with ADA tags and placards.

Allowed items include:

  • Clear bags
  • Reusable water bottles
  • Folding lawn chairs
  • Strollers and wagons for children
  • Cameras and photography equipment
  • Sunscreen
  • Essential medical items
  • Baby formula, breast milk, and baby supplies

The base will also scan for:

  • Firearms of any kind (including replica/toy weapons)
  • Ammunition or explosives
  • Fireworks, firecrackers, bottle rockets
  • Drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • Pepper spray or mace
  • Pocket knives, switchblades, butterfly knives, machetes
  • Brass/iron knuckles, clubs, chains, modified bats
  • Tasers or stun guns
  • Pop-up tents, tents, canopies, canopy umbrellas
  • Outside alcohol, food, and beverages (not to include water)
  • Hard coolers (Soft-sided coolers allowed)
  • Glass containers
  • Drones or remote-controlled aircraft
  • Laser pointers
