A judge handed down a sentence on Wednesday for the man convicted of assaulting a woman he met on a dating website in 2024.As part of a plea deal, Tonio Clark, 22, had a first-degree sexual assault charge downgraded to third-degree sexual assault. He also had a false imprisonment charge amended to terroristic threats, and an assault charge dropped.Clark was sentenced to five years of probation and will have to register as a sex offender.An arrest affidavit alleges the victim met Clark in person for the first time on Nov. 8, 2024. The affidavit states that, while in a vehicle, Clark took the victim’s cell phone and physically assaulted her. It alleges that once back at Clark’s home, he refused to let the victim leave and sexually assaulted her. The victim went to the hospital the next morning to report the alleged crime.According to court documents, during a July 2025 interview, Clark told police that he had a “physical altercation with the victim after she said something to his nine-year-old uncle that he did not like.”The affidavit states that the suspect told police he did not let the victim leave his home because she was intoxicated and denied having any sexual contact with her. Clark allegedly called police in August to request another interview, during which he stated he did have sexual contact with the victim.
