Police say victim has died from injuries in shooting outside gas station in Ralston

RALSTON, Neb. —

A 29-year-old man died from his injuries after a shooting in Ralston on Thursday morning, police said.

Omaha police and Ralston police responded to the Kwik Shop near 72nd and Q streets just after 6:30 a.m.

Officers found the man, identified as Shane Krantz, in the parking lot with a gunshot wound, Ralston police said.

Investigators said witnesses told officers that they were in a car with Krantz when a person who knew the victim drove up, started an altercation and then shot Krantz in the chest.

Authorities said Krantz was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Ralston police said officers are searching for the suspect. Officials said there is no threat to the public at this time.
