More than 184,000 cans of popular soup recalled for defect that can cause spoilage

More than 184,000 cans of a popular soup are being recalled due to a defect that could increase spoilage risk.
Amy’s Kitchen is recalling more than 15,000 cases of its “Organic Lentil Soup – Light in Sodium” that were sold in more than 20 states and part of Canada.

A spokesperson told news outlets that the voluntary recall was issued “out of an abundance of caution” due to a manufacturing defect with the cans’ easy-open pull tabs that could increase the risk of spoilage.
According to a recall notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the 14.5-ounce cans impacted by the recall have a best-by date of April 2027 and lot number 60D0924.
The ongoing recall impacts cans of soup sold in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Maine, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
