Popular vegan comfort food spot Fifth House Omaha permanently closes
OMAHA, Neb. —
A popular vegan restaurant in Blackstone has permanently closed its doors.
Fifth House Omaha, located near 39th and Farnam streets, announced the decision to close in a post on social media.

“It’s a long story. In short, from the day we opened we have not had enough sales to be sustainable. Also, recently we have had several HVAC and kitchen equipment failures that forced us to close our doors for a few days. Those repairs cost us thousands of dollars and we lost out on revenue because we had to be closed while they were getting repaired,” the restaurant said on social media.
The restaurant served vegan comfort food.
“We enjoyed the time while it lasted and appreciated all the support from our customers,” Fifth House Omaha wrote.
