The Community Health Worker Networking Collaborative organized an interactive poverty simulation to raise awareness and understanding about the challenges individuals and families face when living with limited resources. Organizers said the goal of the event was to foster empathy, education, and community engagement around the issue of poverty. “Today we have about 15 individuals who are our service providers and the rest of the individuals participating represent families. Anyone from being a homeless family to a family of five.
