Powerball said the big prize has been growing for months. The jackpot was last won May 2, when two tickets in Florida and Texas split a $20 million jackpot. There have been 40 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner since then.
Powerball tickets, which cost $2, are sold in 45 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom.
