President Trump has signed an executive order to revise the childhood vaccine schedule, including splitting up grouped vaccines, despite medical experts affirming the safety of current practices.

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order, calling for changes to decades of federal guidance on childhood vaccinations.
“It’s not only that you’re doing fewer vaccines or jabs, as they say. But you’re doing them in a series of visits. To the doctor, much smaller amounts,” Trump said.

The order also calls for changes to the practice of grouping certain vaccines, such as the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine, into a single visit. Instead, it recommends splitting these vaccines into separate appointments.
Doctors have stated that grouping vaccines together is safe and that breaking them up could leave children vulnerable to dangerous illnesses for longer periods.
The president said these changes are needed to protect children, particularly from conditions like autism. However, extensive scientific research has found no link between vaccines and autism.
This executive order is the latest move by the administration to alter the nation’s vaccine policies. Earlier this year, the White House proposed changes to the number of vaccines recommended for children, though that effort is currently held up in court.
The order also calls for states to reconsider school vaccine requirements to align with the new recommendations.
