Central Command said it fired on an oil tanker attempting to transport oil from Iran, marking the eighth ship hit off Iran’s coast.Trump also claimed on social media that the U.S. military carried out a “secret mission” to help oil tankers and other ships move through the Strait of Hormuz. He said more than 200 ships and more than 100 million barrels of oil are now moving through the waterway.On the economic front, Trump addressed rising inflation, which hit 4.2% annually in May as energy costs climbed during the conflict. He said prices would fall once the war ends.”I love the inflation. You know why? Because as soon as this war is over. You know, I can say it now. Something you didn’t know. You know, we’ve been taking out millions of barrels of oil. Nobody knows it. You know who doesn’t know about it? Iran, until right now,” Trump said.
