New Lauritzen Gardens exhibit showcases Omaha artist’s floral creations
A new exhibit by an Omaha artist at Lauritzen Gardens features pressed and framed floral artwork inspired by plants growing along the shores of the Missouri River.
OMAHA, Neb. —
A new exhibit by an Omaha artist at Lauritzen Gardens features pressed and framed floral artwork inspired by plants growing along the shores of the Missouri River.
The collection was put together by Omaha artist Holly Lukasiewicz and combines stems, leaves and blooms into swirling designs.

Lukasiewicz said the artwork is meant to create feelings of peace, hope and love while encouraging people to notice the natural world around them.
“I’m so grateful that Lauritzen allows local artists to come in here and share their work with visitors,” Lukasiewicz said. “It feels like such a kismet connection to be able to work with plants and share it with this community.”
The flora used in the pieces comes from personal gardens, local flower farms and commercial flower farms in South America. Lukasiewicz describes each work as a “poem of gratitude” to the natural world.
The exhibit runs Aug. 8 through Sept. 13, and all of Lukasiewicz’s pieces are available for purchase.
The exhibit is included with paid garden admission and is free for Lauritzen Gardens members. The garden is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
