THE TORNADO CAME RIGHT DOWN HERE AND JUST WENT A SHORT DISTANCE AND WENT UP. REALLY TOSSED AROUND THE GRAIN TRAILERS FOR THE SEMIS, THE HOPPER POTS. FOR SOME REASON IT GOT AHOLD OF THEM AND THREW THEM LIKE UP TO A QUARTER MILE. VIEWER. VIDEO SHOWS THE MOMENT A REPORTED TORNADO MAKES ITS WAY THROUGH HIS PROPERTY. YOU START SEEING THINGS SMASHED UP FROM SOMETHING WITH REAL WEIGHT GETTING THROWN OUT THERE, POWER LINES DOWN, DEBRIS COVERING HIS YARD AND EVEN BUILDINGS COMPLETELY TORN FROM THE GROUND. THE WORST OF THOSE WINDS, EVEN THROWING AN EMPTY SEMI TRUCK INTO THE TREES. REINEKE SAYS IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. WE’VE ALWAYS GOT TORNADOES COMING THROUGH HERE. THIS IS THE FIRST ONE TO HIT THE BUILDING SITE. IT WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN SOMETIME, BUT AS HE BEGINS TO SORT THROUGH THE MESS, THERE’S A BRIGHT SPOT TO BE FOUND. WE LOST A BUNCH OF TREES. WE LOST ABOUT A BUNCH OF THINGS, BUT THIS SORT OF THING, EVERYTHING HERE IS REPLACEABLE. THERE’S NOTHING LOST HERE THAT’S IRREPLACEABLE. NO ONE GOT HURT. NO ONE EVEN GOT CLOSE TO BEING HURT. A reported tornado struck Little Sioux, Iowa, Thursday afternoon, leaving significant damage to one farm but causing no injuries. Dave Reinig, the property owner, arrived at his farm fearing the worst. “The tornado came right down here and just went a short distance and went up, really tossed around the grain trailers for the semis. The hopper bobs for some reason. They got ahold of them and threw them, like, up to a quarter mile,” Reinig said.
