Omaha sets July 9 meeting on Ames Avenue safety project
Residents can learn about upcoming construction and help shape long-term plans for the corridor
OMAHA, Neb. —
The city of Omaha is inviting residents to learn about upcoming improvements on Ames Avenue and share input on future plans. The meeting is Thursday, July 9, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Venue at Highlander.
Construction is expected to begin in July on a quick-build safety project along Ames Avenue from Fontenelle Boulevard to Commercial Avenue.

The project includes repaving and restriping to improve safety and mobility for people walking, biking, taking transit and driving.
Officials say the meeting will include an update on the Ames Avenue Safe Mobility Recovery Plan and give residents a chance to review community feedback and technical analysis.
A presentation starts at 5:45 p.m. and will be followed by small-group conversations. Comments can also be submitted here through July 23.
