Ribbon-cutting ceremony unveils community monument in Little Italy
OMAHA, Neb. —
A ribbon-cutting ceremony at Pine Elementary unveiled a special monument created by a local artist to celebrate Omaha’s community and culture.
The artist said the monument represents Omaha as a whole and brings the community together.

“It’s, it’s a beautiful thing. It’s a very rewarding thing, too, because it’s the space about the children,” said Lita de la Guardia.
Children posed for pictures in front of the monument during the event.
The artist also shared that her next project will involve painting benches at the Durham Museum.
