– Could you imagine running the Boston Marathon after completing a six stage, 168 mile ultra marathon through the Sahara Desert of all places? Well, that’s exactly what Des Linden did on Monday. The 2018 Boston Marathon Champion retired from pro running last year. However, she returned to Hopatcong this year looking to pace her husband Ryan, to a 2:33 marathon. Now, they didn’t quite hit that goal, but Des Linden finished 30th overall among women in 2:35:49, with her husband finishing just a couple minutes back in 2:37. And she did this after running the Marathon des Sables, which goes through Morocco in the Sahara Desert, six stages around 168 miles. I couldn’t imagine doing that, but we know Des Linden is a badass. And so of course she was gonna go do that And I can’t picture, and I’m probably sure you can’t either, a Boston Marathon without Des Linden. And she even said that herself to us after the race. She said on Marathon Monday, I wouldn’t wanna be anywhere else than Boston.

Sabastian Sawe wore this new $500 super shoe during his sub-2 hour marathon
On Sunday, April 26, Sabastian Sawe ran his way into the history books, becoming the first man to break the 2-hour barrier in an official race. His time of 1:59:30 at the London Marathon shattered Kelvin Kiptum’s world record of 2:00:35 by 65 seconds and was quicker than Eliud Kipchoge’s 1:59:40 from the INEOS 1:59 Challenge exhibition race in 2019.So what was on the feet of the fastest runner of all time? In other words, the shoe is designed to be as light as possible for the fastest athletes in the world. It was a long process, but it’s led to something we believe genuinely changes what a race-day shoe can feel like.”The first edition of the Pro Evo made headlines in 2023 for its $500 price tag and limited supply; just 521 pairs were initially released. Tigst Assefa broke the world record in the shoe at the 2023 Berlin Marathon, running 2:11:53.Like Sawe, Assefa also wore the Pro Evo 3 in London on Sunday, where she ran a where she ran a women’s-only world record of 2:15:41 to win for the second year in a row. And Yomif Kejelcha also laced it up in his marathon debut—a staggering 1:59:41 to finish second to Sawe.
