The cooling center at the Salvation Army of Omaha’s North Corps location, at 2401 Manderson St., will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Both centers will be open through Friday. The nonprofit says the centers offer air-conditioning, cold bottled water and places to charge electronic devices.
The centers are typically opened during extreme hot temperatures. Omaha’s Weather Leader is tracking climbing temperatures into the weekend, with a heat index in the 100s.
