York was arrested by the East Palestine Police Department over the weekend on one count of disorderly conduct and one count of possession of criminal tools.

York, who pleaded no contest to the charges, was ordered to pay $1,150 in fines and sentenced to serve one day in jail for each charge, which were served concurrently. Columbiana County Municipal Court records show York was initially taken into custody on a charge of engaging in prostitution, but that charge was later dropped.

Court records show that York filed a request to expunge the case from his record. York’s cellphone was returned to him, but court records show York agreed to forfeit $160 that was seized from him to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.

York’s family is originally from Youngstown, Ohio, on his mother’s side, with East Palestine located about 30 minutes south of there.

WKBN-TV in Youngstown was the first to report on York’s arrest.

York, 46, grew up around the 49ers and has been the CEO of the team since the end of the 2008 season. He became the principal owner of the team in 2024 when he bought out many of his mother’s shares.
