Texas Watermelon Queen teaches Omaha kids seed-spitting skills back in 1981
OMAHA, Neb. —
Texas Watermelon Queen Tracy Lynn Foster came to Omaha to teach kids the art of seed spitting in 1981.
About 60 children came to the area of 120th Street and W Center Road for the contest, and Foster was on hand to show them how it’s done.

“I did spit 41 feet and 7 inches today. Sometimes you can’t because there’s no art to it. Some say roll your tongue, some say point the small end towards the back. It really doesn’t matter, because it’s up to you and how much hot air you have, I think,” Foster said.
