IT HAPPENED AT THE LINKS AT GOLF ON MONDAY, THIRD HOLE ROUGHLY 60 YARDS OR SO, THE SHORTEST OF THE 18 HOLE. IT DOESN’T MATTER. IT’S A HOLE IN ONE. HIGHLY IMPRESSIVE. CARTER SAYS THAT HE WAS IN SHOCK, BUT HIS NAME HAS BEEN ADDED TO THAT LIST RIGHT THERE. THAT’S THAT’S THE HOLE IN ONE CLUB, WHICH IS THE PLAQUE AT THE COURSE. A Massachusetts teenager accomplished something on the golf course that most people will not do in their entire lives.And it was his first round of golf, ever.Meet Carter Theos, a seventh grader at Norton Middle School in Norton, Massachusetts, which is around 37 miles from Boston.Theos was golfing at The Links at Mass Golf on Monday with his friends when he lined up for a par 3 on the third hole.Against his friend’s advice, he used a driver.He swung and admitted the ball did not look like much coming off the club. But it hit the ground early, started to bounce, and rolled in for a hole-in-one.The boys celebrated the memorable moment with cheers and pictures.Drew Chapman, the PGA professional at The Links at Mass Golf, said the shot “will hook on golf the rest of his life.”Theos will get his name etched in the “Hole in One Club” plaque at the clubhouse.
