Omaha police officers help kids prepare for back-to-school season
OMAHA, Neb. —
The Omaha Police Officers Association helped kids get ready for the first day of school by providing $200 for supplies and clothing.
Officers ensured the children had the right supplies or outfits to show their friends.

“We give them that opportunity to start the year. All right. You know, starting off school, those kids are coming out of summer, giving them that leg up, giving them that opportunity to come to school, feeling fresh,” said Patrick Dempsey.
Multiple school districts are preparing to return, including Omaha Public Schools, which starts Aug. 19.
