Spain fans in the Capital District cheered for their team up until the very end. They jumped and chanted when their team was crowned.
One Spain fan, Haldi, said this was the best day of her life. She said Argentina played very badly and that they didn’t stand a chance at winning today.
Spain fans Gio Hernandez and Fabian Lozano were in shock by their team’s win.
“It’s insane to see Argentina lose, bro, after a while now and just see Spain win,” Lozano said.
Argentina fans were not as happy at the end of the game. Argentina fans Samir Rodriguez and Mario Mendez said they were both sad and disappointed with today’s loss.
“We say that when the World Cup plays in America, either North or South America has to stay in America,” said Mendez. Overall, they were mad that the cup went to a European team.
Jacob Morris’s wife is from Argentina, and they held hands for the last few minutes of the game while they watched their team lose.
“I’m sad for them, I’m sad for the county, but they played their heart out, so I’m happy in that aspect,” Morris said.
