OMAHA, Neb. —

It was a group effort out at Hanscom Park on Sunday.

The Blue Bucket Project and other organizations around the Metro participated in the “Star Spangled Cleanup.”

The group was relieved to see less firework trash than last year and says it’s important to clean it up.

“We want to make sure that the chemicals that are in fireworks are picked up today so that those don’t leach into the ground,” said Cindy Tefft, Blue Bucket Project.
