OMAHA, Neb. —

Extreme heat has faded away. We are still warm, but now tracking cooler temperatures ahead, and with that, increased chances for storms late week.

Thursday storm chances

As of Thursday afternoon, the Storm Prediction Center has Douglas county in a slight risk for any severe activity Thursday into Thursday night and a marginal risk for most of the rest of our viewing area.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, including the Omaha and Lincoln areas, until 1 a.m. Friday.
