Surveillance video obtained by sister station KOCO shows the moment an alleged gunman approached an Oklahoma high school with a weapon last month.New surveillance video releasedVideo from April 7 shows a black truck drive up in front of the high school and park near the street at about 2:17 p.m., according to time codes on the video. A person wearing a black sweatshirt is seen getting out of the driver’s side door of the truck before putting on their hood. The person, who was identified in previously released surveillance video as former student Victor Hawkins, then walks through the lawn in front of Pauls Valley High School with their hands in their pockets. >> Watch the new raw surveillance video below.A separate camera angle shows Hawkins walking toward the entrance of the high school, with his hands still in his pockets, before pulling out what appears to be a firearm. When he is almost at the door, Hawkins turns around and begins walking back in the direction he had come from. At the same time, a person wearing a backpack appears in the camera’s frame, walking along the sidewalk to the door of the school. Hawkins then turns back around and begins walking toward the door of the school once again. The person wearing the backpack pauses at the door for several seconds as Hawkins looks at them. Then, the person in the backpack goes inside and appears to close the door behind them. However, in the last second of the video, Hawkins reaches for the door handle. Video shows that the door did not appear to be closed all the way. Moore was shot, and he was briefly hospitalized before being released.Suspect arrestedHawkins was arrested shortly after the shooting and was booked into the Garvin County Jail on two counts of pointing a firearm, one count of shooting with intent to kill, and two counts of unlawful carry.Court documents state that Hawkins intended to commit a mass shooting at the school and admitted that he was influenced by the Columbine school shooting. During an arraignment on Wednesday, Hawkins told a judge he had every intention of going inside the school to shoot students, faculty and then himself.Hawkins’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23.
