Driver, passenger hurt after stolen car crashes following Omaha police traffic stop
Two people were taken to the hospital after fleeing a traffic stop and eventually crashing in North Omaha on Sunday night, according to Omaha police.

Two people were taken to the hospital after fleeing a traffic stop and eventually crashing in North Omaha on Sunday night, according to Omaha police.
It happened near 24th & Saint Mary’s Avenue. Officers say they spotted a Chevy Tahoe that fled from a traffic stop a few days ago and tried performing another stop on the car.

The Chevy allegedly fled again, but an OPD air support helicopter tracked the vehicle as it fled. The car eventually crashed near 61st and Ames Avenue.
The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. According to Omaha police, the driver had a warrant for absconding and was driving a stolen car. That person has not been identified by authorities.
The passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
