The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported two measles-related deaths in unvaccinated individuals Tuesday.
The two deaths are the first reported in 2026. Three deaths were reported in 2025, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Measles cases have surged in 2026. Last month, the total number of confirmed cases for 2026 surpassed the number in all of 2025, making it the worst year since 1991.
