UNO men’s basketball coach weighs in on Maverick Athletics’ new facilities

OMAHA, Neb. —

UNO hosted a kickoff event at Big Grove Brewery as the Mavericks get ready for the new school year.

The university is closing in on finishing a new training facility for Maverick Athletics that will shift the home base from Sapp Field House to just east of Baxter Arena.

UNO Athletic Director Adrian Dowell called the facilities “Power Four” facilities and the coaches certainly appreciate them.

“He’s a competitor. I’m a competitor. Our AD is probably the most competitive guy that I know, even our chancellor. So we all want to win. We all want to be the best we can be, so they’re giving us everything we need now to be successful,” Crutchfield said.

UNO is also building clubhouses for baseball and softball at Maverick Park.
