Video: Pilot injured after small plane crashes into Texas home

HOUSTON —

A plane crashed into a Texas home, sending the pilot to the hospital.

It happened around 6:45 a.m. CT Monday near the Covey Trails Airstrip, just east of Houston, according to officials with the Fulshear Simonton Fire Department.

Aerial video from the scene shows a yellow plane sitting on the roof of the home.

The small aircraft, identified by the Federal Aviation Administration as a Piper J3C-65, had only the pilot on board when it crashed into the home.

That pilot was attempting to land at a nearby private airstrip, FAA officials said. The exact cause of the crash remains unclear.

The pilot was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to local authorities. No other injuries have been reported.
