FOLSOM, Calif. —

A skydiver crashed while descending into a stadium on the opening night of the sold out Folsom Pro Rodeo in California.

An American flag attached to the performer appears to have snagged on a tree, video shows, causing him to crash right next to attendees and onto a tent.

Folsom Pro Rodeo has featured a performer landing by parachute bearing a weighted flag for years.

Hearst Television’s KCRA 3 is working to gather information on the parachutist’s condition and whether anyone else was injured.

The Folsom Pro Rodeo is a massive, multi-day Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association event held in Folsom, California.

Now in its 65th year, the rodeo honors the region’s western heritage with traditional bull riding, barrel racing, mutton busting, trick roping and a rodeo clown.
